Sport for couples – what to exercise for two?

  • Tennis

The recent successes of our tennis players have increased the interest of Poles in this sport. Tennis has become not only one of the most popular sports in Poland. It is also an excellent form of activity for couples. All you have to do is find a partner with whom you will go to the court and start training.

  • Badminton

Another racket sport that is perfectly suited for pair play is badminton. Unlike tennis, we can also practice it outside specially adapted halls. Two rackets and a shuttlecock and an even lawn, tartan or other surface are enough to spend some time actively.

  • Squash

Squash is a dispute for couples that has grown in popularity in recent years. This is also another racket sport on our list. Its main goal is to bounce the ball against the walls of a special court so that our partner (and opponent) is not able to hit it again.

  • Ping pong

Table tennis, also known as “ping-pong”, known from school days – is a sport for couples that is characterized by dynamics. Mastering the right techniques of hitting the ball allows you to fight exciting battles to see who will turn out to be the best.

  • Running in pairs

Although running is primarily an individual sport, it can also be practiced in pairs. What’s more, a well-chosen partner can positively affect our results, e.g. by helping us maintain the right pace. Those who count on a friendly conversation, however, may have a problem – it is difficult to have thrilling discussions during the run.

  • Cycling

A sport that fosters conversation, on the other hand, is cycling. At a moderate pace, it allows you not only to admire the charms of nature, but also to have a casual conversation with your travel companion. We don’t need to mention the benefits for the body, do we?

  • Riding

Horse riding is a sport for couples who are not afraid of challenges. It requires them to be able to control the animal, which many – especially beginners – may have a problem with. However, once we pass this phase, horse riding together can be an interesting sports alternative to outdoor activity.

  • Billiards

Billiards is a sport for couples who value the time spent together more than physical activity. It contains an element of competition, which makes the skirmishes exciting, but playing billiards can also be treated as a form of relaxation due to its low intensity.

  • Nordic

Although walking is undoubtedly an excellent form of activity, it is difficult to call it a sport due to its lazy pace. Couples who would like to squeeze even more out of walking should be interested in Nordic walking. Popular walks with poles help burn about 20% more calories than normal walks.

  • Inline skating

Another sport for couples on our list is roller skating. Depending on the pace you choose, it can be an opportunity to talk, as well as to burn a large number of calories. You don’t need much equipment to practice it either – all you need are rollerblades and a set of pads.

  • Canoeing

You can also practice canoeing in pairs – both recreational and more advanced. It is a sport for couples who have access to water reservoirs nearby, where rentals operate. Those who want water adventures can also sign up for canoeing trips organized in various parts of the country.

  • Ballroom dancing

A sport for couples, from which the acquired skills can later be used in other situations, is ballroom dancing. Regular pair exercises will not only teach us to move around the dance floor with grace and style. Dancing also helps to shape the body by strengthening the muscles of the back, abdomen or legs – and these are not the only physical benefits of practicing this sport!

  • Yoga for couples – acroyoga

An increasingly popular form of physical activity for couples is acroyoga, also known as yoga for couples. It combines elements taken from yoga with acrobatics. One of the partners lifts the other and supports him, while the other performs various acrobatic exercises or takes poses known from yoga. Acroyoga has a positive effect not only on muscle strength and endurance. It also requires perfect balance from couples practicing it.

  • Martial Arts

For the brave, martial arts can be an idea for joint exercises. In this case, however, it is worth choosing a partner whose physical conditions will more or less match ours, in order to fully unleash your potential without risking damage to your health. It is also worth remembering to exercise in the right equipment and protectors that will help protect yourself from injury.

  • Strength sports

Although exercising at the gym – like running – is primarily an individual sport, nothing stands in the way of exercising with a partner. What’s more, in many cases, the presence of another person belaying us can be useful (e.g. facing an above-average weight).
